World Masters Athletics Tampere 2022
The World Masters Athletics Tampere 2022, scheduled to take place from June 29 – July 10, 2022, is a world championship caliber event for the sport of athletics (track and field) for male and female athletes aged 35 years and over. This competition is open to all athletes, with no qualification standards, with the exception that athletes must be members of their respective national organizations.
World Masters Athletics
World Masters Athletics (WMA) is the worldwide governing body of masters athletics which includes track and field, cross country and road running events.
World Masters Athletics Championships have been held by 18 different nations and 23 cities world-wide since its inception in Toronto in 1975. Due to Covid19 – pandemic, the last Stadia Championships were held in Málaga 2018. The WMA Championships are recognized by World Athletics as the pinnacle event for masters-aged competitors.
